Finca Juanita Elementary School: From School Garden to Cafeteria

As part of its ongoing social responsibility programs, Parador staff visited the Finca Juanita Elementary School. With our guidance, Finca Juanita created a vegetable garden on the school’s grounds, committing the students to nurture and care for the plants.

We were thrilled to see the magnificent results these great kids coaxed from Costa Rica’s fertile soil: today the garden is producing sweet peppers, lettuce and celery, which are consumed in their school cafeteria.

The tiny Finca Juanita Elementary School, with an enrollment of only 10 hard-working, creative children, is a wonderful example of how kids can help build a sustainable future for our planet.
