Jairo is one of many in the Parador family whose longevity with and rise within the organization represents both the caliber of our employees and the hotel’s commitment to training and offering enduring careers.

Jairo, a father of two,  grew up in nearby Parrita and joined Parador in 2000 as a front-gate greeter. He was quickly elevated to bellboy and tour desk fill-in. Several years with the reservations department followed which led to a position with the front desk, where he eventually rose to the level of supervisor.  A brief hiatus to study in San Jose preceded Jairo’s return to Parador as Guest Services concierge and weekend manager-on-duty, where in addition to accommodating all needs and requests from our visitors, he is integrally involved in wedding planning activities.  Jairo aspires to work in as many departments as possible towards his ultimate goal of reaching high managerial status within the company.

According to his colleagues, Jairo has become a real romantic since joining the Guest Services department —  frequently conjuring up the best wedding décor concepts and often surprising his wife with flowers and other amorous gestures. We love a man with soft side. You go Jairo! Jairo is also an expert in the mangroves as his dad runs one of the most popular tours through the unique bio-diverse area near Quepos.

Says Jairo: “There is nothing more rewarding than seeing people happy and Parador has given me the opportunity to help create that happiness for our guests. There is still more to learn and since I work with the best I get to do that each day.  I am convinced that I will always remain a member of the Parador family.”

Length of service with Parador: 11 years
